The dream of these coffee growers was to built a lasting association that started in 2006 but only became a unit in 2008 once the conflict in the area had ended. Part of their main aim was to improve and consolidate the indigenous own economy. It was an interesting and unusual exercise where farmers and the indigenous authorities worked together with the main objective of recover the internal production of the Kankuamo reserve.

With the help of several government institutions they continue to worked on issues such as clean production with the objective of obtaining organic certification, in 2010 they finally acquired their Organic Certification.

The region is so vast they can also develop parallel crops such as ginger, mango, palm rose, sugar cane and cacao. They are also well known for they handmade chocolate, lemon tree and palm tree essence.
