Some ten years ago, in the area of ​​Timana in Huila, was undergoing a lot of changes due to climate change and low prices. Early 2002 38 growers of the region decided to conform ASPROTIMANA with the aim of improving their quality of life and the subsistence of the region as coffee producers. The coffee quality of the producers has led to awards for participation in competitions such as the Sustainable Coffee Rainforest Colombia contest in 2009, the 2009 Alternative Development coffee contest, the 2011 and 2013 Excellence Rate contest and the recognition by part of the international magazine Consumer Reports as the third best coffee in price and quality in specialized stores in the United States.
