The Association of high quality coffee producers of the municipalities of Cachipay and Zipacón “CAFESAC” was created on March 2013, by a group of local producers. Their main objectives were: To implement organic farming and improving agricultural practices; . To improve the standard of living of their families; and To ensure a better income to farmers for their certified coffee beans.
Currently CAFESAC has 27 members, 19 certificated their farms under organic standards with Ecocert. Their internal control system includes onsite training, farm visits and audits as well as guidance from specialist Nelson Galindo.
